Outcry
-
Students from Makawao Elementary and their parents turn out to
protest the furlough plan for teachers. Makawao just received
a good report card in "No Child Left Behind" and they
fear it won't repeat if teachers have less time to teach.
Sneak
Peek - Maui's newest full-service pharmacy opens
this week. And the Walgreen's Pharmacy and drug store in Lahaina
features something that no other Maui apothecary can: drive-thru
convenience.
Almost
Heaven
- Maui, Hawai'i and the world prepare for the canonization of
Hawaii's first saint. Father Damien de Veuster will be canonized
on October 11 in Rome. Then his relics will travel the world -
including Maui - to rest forever in Hawai'i.
In Sports,
Team Bradley - including Maui's Lauren Bartlett, captured their
fifth straight Na Wahine O Ke Kai on Sunday. No M-I-L football
this week so everyone can go to the Fair.
Also this
