This Week on Maui TV News:

Rebound Beginning? - While hotels and resorts across the state experienced their "worst" summer in 22 years, South and West Maui are beginning to see things approach "normal," and Maui still commands the highest room revenue in Hawai'i.

Almost Heaven - This is the weekend Hawaii's first-ever saint will be canonized in the Catholic Church. More than 500 residents are in Belgium and Rome for the event - including 11 Hansen's Disease survivors from Kalaupapa.

Think Pink - It's everywhere this month as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A group of cancer survivors plan to raise awareness - and funds - by paddling to and around Lana'i.

Also this week on Maui TV News:

Safe and Well - While the American Red Cross sends another 15 volunteers to quake, typhoon and tsunami beleaguered Samoa and the Philippines, they also have advice for us to prepare in a way most have not thought of before.

Wailea Mermaid - Renowned Maui artist Dale Zarrella unveils his newest work or art - a mermaid at the Grand Wailea fashioned from a tree that once shaded a Kahului landmark.

Going Up - Blame it on last month's oil prices - but next month electric bills will be going up across the entire state. Maui Electric's rates are still some of the best in Hawai'i, however.

In Sports, Upcountry football action pitted four teams against each other last weekend - with an outcome that doesn't make the playoff picture any clearer.

Also this week on Maui TV News, from paddling with your pooch, to an up-close encounter with rare rainforest birds - to healthy babies and Cop Talk. We've got the details for you this week in Coming Attractions on Maui TV News.
