Protected Forever - On the heels of last week's historic land easement agreement keeping open space open at Ulupalakua Ranch comes news of a similar victory on Moloka'i. We have the details on the Moloka'i Land Trust's major acquisition.

But Wait! Meanwhile, residents on the Friendly Isle will have their patience tested when the island's only metal recycling facility closes this Friday. That means nowhere to dump cars, batteries, appliances or tires until April, 2010.

Slow Down - South Maui Commuters are facing the specter of three months of really low speed limits on Pi'ilani Highway as crews work to resurface a two-mile stretch. Meanwhile, the speed limit has been lowered from 40 to 30 mph.
