S-L-O-W Growth - The latest report from the University of Hawai'i Economic Research Organization shows the worst may be behind us - but that recovery, particularly in construction jobs, may still take more than a year. Still, the report wasn't all bad news.

U-H Growth. The recession of 2009 is having an unintended consequence - people are going back to college. In fact, all 10 U-H campuses across the state are reporting record enrollment for the fall - and Maui Community College is leading the way.

School Privacy - An unintended consequence of the "No Child Left Behind" Act is that state education officials are required to provide personal information on public school students to military recruiters. If you don't like it, we'll tell you what to do about it.

No Shark Bait. It's official: You won't go into a shark cage around Maui. This week the Maui County Council pout the brakes on that activity. We'll explain what gives them the right to do that.

Kapu Lifted. For one weekend this month, boaters and fishermen will be able to troll sacred waters near the coast of Kaho'olawe. There are rules and we'll tell you what they are.

In Sports, the Maui High Sabers do it again - making history by defeating Division Two champs Lahainaluna. And, as if that weren't enough, King Kekaulike does the same to the 38-game-winning Baldwin Bears. Details in Sports.
