Economists
say things are getting better - but most of us in Maui County
- and across the Aloha State - are still working to get back to
"even." In February this year Mayor Charmaine Tavares
launched a campaign from which the entire state - the entire nation,
in fact - could learn.
It's
called "Got Choice? Think Local!" The idea
is to think about our friends and neighbors with whom we do business,
then consider spending our hard-earned dollars at home before
sending our money to the mainland or overseas.
In
the process we not only support the local economy that is fueled
by small business - but we also learn about the incredible quality
of goods and services grown and produced right here at home in
Maui County.
