We're Looking for the Sound of

If You are a musician, composer or performer and would like to hear your music featured throughout Maui TV News and other projects produced by Island News Technologies, we want to hear from you. We need it to sound local, Maui style and - most of all - in a way that honors the spirit of Hawai'i.

We are looking for original instrumental compositions and performances only. We need:

  • Music "beds," usually 60 seconds in length, that will be used to add local feeling to video clips and stories we tell about life in our islands.
  • Theme music for the intro and outro of the newscast and each segment. We also need theme music for Sports, Arts and Events, Island Style coming attractions and other things that we haven't event thought of yet.
  • Credit "roll" music that will play at the end of each show.
  • Special Edition themes. In this category, musicians have the most freedom to get creative. Use your musical eyes to look at Maui and let your sounds help tell the stories.

Be creative and have fun. We need variety of that distinct Maui style. Jazzy, traditional, classic, mellow, hot, you be the judge. Your creations will be heard a LOT. And, of course you will receive on-screen credit in every show on television and on line. There's more in it for you, but we'll have more on that later, so stay tuned.

Entries will be featured on Maui TV News and voted on by television viewers, internet visitors and our own "panel of distinguished experts." Finalists will be featured in a music video presentation on Maui TV News.

Entries should be submitted in digital format (mp3, wav, aiff, etc.). Multiple entries are welcome. You can submit your digital entries by email (file size limit of 5MB, please) by clicking here.CD-ROM, DVD or analog entries should be mailed to:
