IT'S A BUSY DAY FOR WATER SAFETY OFFICIALS. A HIGH SURF WARNING IS EFFECT FOR ALL OF THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS. WAVE FACES OF 30 FEET OR MORE ARE HITTING MAUI AND MOLOKA'I TODAY. THEY'RE EXPECTED TO DROP IN SIZE LATER TONIGHT, BUT MEANWHILE, UNLESS YOU'RE AN ELITE SURFER OR WATERMAN, STAY BACK FROM THE SHORE.

YESTERDAY COAST GUARD CREWS PLUCKED TWO MEN FROM THE OCEAN ABOUT 50 MILES SOUTH OF LANA'I. THEY HAD BEEN MISSING FOR TWO DAYS. THE TWO WERE A HIRED CREW TRANSPORTING A SAILBOAT FROM HONOLULU TO HILO. A COAST GUARD RESCUE HELICOPTER BROUGHT THE MEN ABOARD JUST BEFORE 8 O'CLOCK LAST NIGHT. THE BOAT WAS LEAST SEEN DRIFTING TO THE SOUTHWEST.

FOR THANKSGIVING TOMORROW, ALL SCHOOLS, BANKS AND GOVERNMENT OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED. TRASH PICKUP, HOWEVER, WILL BE ON REGULAR SCHEDULE.

ISLAND WEATHER, THAT HIGH SURF WARNING CONTINUES FOR NORTH SHORES THROUGH TOMORROW MORNING. LOOK FOR PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES TONIGHT AND LOWS IN THE 60S. TOMORROW, MOSTLY SUNNY AND BREEZY WITH HIGHS IN THE MID 80S.

FROM THE VISIONARY RADIO NEWS CENTER FOR MAUI TV NEWS, I'M JEFF KING.
