A TOTAL OF 100 SCHOOLS ACROSS THE STATE - INCLUDING SEVEN HERE ON MAUI HAVE VOTED TO REINSTATE AT LEAST SIX OF THE 17 FURLOUGH DAYS THIS SCHOOL YEAR. YESTERDAY THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION VOTED TO APPROVE THE MOVE TO BRING THE NUMBER OF INSTRUCTIONAL DAYS AT THOSE SCHOOLS BACK TO 169. THERE ARE STILL MORE THAN 150 SCHOOLS ACROSS THAT HAVE NOT YET SUBMITTED A PLAN TO RESTORE ANY INSTRUCTIONAL DAYS.

AND JACK'S GOT FREE COFFEE FOR YOU. ALL JACK IN THE BOX RESTAURANTS ON MAUI AND O'AHU ARE GIVING AWAY A FREE CUP OF HOT OR ICED COFFEE WITH ANY PURCHASE THIS MONTH. IT'S CALLED "COFFEE FOR KAMA'AINA" AND SERVES THE DUAL PURPOSE OF INTRODUCING A NEW BRAND OF COFFEE IN THE RESTAURANTS, WHILE DOING SOMETHING NICE FOR CUSTOMERS DURING TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES.
