A LAHAINA MAN IS DEAD AFTER A CAR-PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT LAST NIGHT IN LAHAINA. MAUI POLICE SAY A 55 YEAR-OLD MAN - WITH NO LOCAL ADDRESS, WAS STRUCK BY A CAR DRIVEN BY A VISITOR FROM SWITZERLAND JUST BEFORE 8 P.M. NEAR KENUI STREAM. THE MAN DIED FROM HIS INJURIES.

IT'S A TIME OF GIVING. YESTERDAY A GROUP OF HAWAIIAN AIRLINES PILOTS - AND THEIR UNION - DONATED MORE THAN 14,000 DOLLARS TO THE RED CROSS OF JAPAN. AND TODAY THE HAWAII MEDICAL SERVICES ASSOCIATION - HMSA - ANNOUNCED A DONATION OF MORE THAN 82,000 DOLLARS FOR RELIEF EFFORTS IN JAPAN.

AND THE MAUI POLICE DEPARTMENT IS LOOKING FOR HELP. THEY'RE TRYING TO BUILD A DATABASE OF DISORIENTED PERSONS - PRIMARILY ELDERLY - SO THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO GO ON WHEN A MISSING PERSONS REPORT IS FILED.
