IT'S THE CLOSEST THING TO CHA-CHING THAT WE'VE HEARD IN A WHILE. THE NEWEST VISITOR SPENDING NUMBERS ARE OUT AND SPEND THEY DID. FOR THE MONTH OF JULY, VISITORS LEFT ONE-POINT-ONE BILLION DOLLARS IN HAWAI'I - THAT'S A 23 PERCENT JUMP FROM JULY 2009. FOR THE YEAR SO FAR, VISITOR EXPENDITURES ARE NEARLY SIX AND A HALF BILLION DOLLARS - AND THAT'S A JUMP OF MORE THAN 10 PERCENT FROM TH SAME PERIOD LAST YEAR.

AND THE GOOD NEWS CONTINUES. EVERY ONE OF THE MAJOR HAWAIIAN ISLANDS EXPERIENCED SIGNIFICANT INCREASES IN VISITOR TRAFFIC IN JULY - WITH LANA'I SHOWING THE GREATEST GROWTH AT NEARLY 14 PERCENT MORE THAN A YEAR AGO.
